While some storage companies offer incentives to prepay rent for long periods of time, normally the units are rented on a month-to-month basis and do not require a long-term commitment.
Will my belongings be safe?
Self storage facilities offer a variety of features to protect your belongings. Each facility is different but some of the features to look for include electronic gates with coded access, monitored video surveillance, well protected (fences) and well lit facilities. Some facilities also offer individual door alarms and a personal lock on your self storage unit is advisable. Personal locks are available for purchase at many self storage facilities. What are the differences between outdoor, drive-up and indoor storage units?
Drive-up units are typically located outside and offer the convenience of driving a vehicle right up to the unit door, making loading and unloading easier. Indoor units are located within the building and require tenants to move-in their belongings by way of hallways and sometimes elevators. Climate controlled units are most often located inside self storage facilities.
