Aptly named for its surrounding hills, suburban Hillside township is as rich in history as it is in its sense of community. Nestled less than two miles South of this storage facility on Conant Street, the Eaton Store Museum and Woodruff House is open for tours led by the Hillside Historical Society. Children's writer Edward Stratemeyer, author of beloved fictional book series such as The Hardy Boys, Nancy Drew, and Bobbsey Twins is laid to rest in Hillside in a site listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
